DJs in Staunton

Zach & Jamie's downtown wedding, The American Hotel, Staunton, VA

Zach and Jamie’s wedding was bitter sweet. Not only was it our last wedding of the 2018 event season. It was the last of 3 weddings we booth with 3 different couples who are all friends, and who all attended each others wedding. Yes, we got to DJ and party with the same 6 people (and actually a couple other guests who were at each wedding as well, namely, our friend and owner of Bridal Impressions, Brooke).

This was a first for us, and likely the very rare last. It’s common to work with a 2 different couples who attend each others weddings between two different years, but not 3 events in the same calendar year. It was special, each event was unique, you can ready back on a few of them like Jenn and Jonathans, Abbey and TC’s wedding here via our sister company, Boxy Booth’s blog, and then here with Zach and Jamie’s wedding.

Zach and Jamie’s wedding was a small, intimate day, filled with flavors of their personalities seasoned throughout each part of their ceremony and reception. Cult film references (Princes Bride), a clear love of books placed into the decor, and massive smoked turkey legs for dinner, which were beyond tasty that I can only guess were inspired by them being fans of GoT, Tolkien, etc..

We could go on, but we’ll end this rant with how the dance party was fire!!! All of this made sense and was ever fitting in such a wonderful church for the ceremony, and a cozy space for a reception at the American Hotel.

We loved getting to know Zach and Jamie through email, over the phone, at pre-event planning meetings over Pizza and beer in Staunton, and then see everything come together at their wedding. These are the things that make us love what we do for our clients and keep us going and loving what we do. Congrats Zach and Jamie! We hope you guys have a wonder mawage and enjoy being in wove, trew wove (not a typo ;D).

Nicole & Ryan's Destination Wedding, The Omni Homestead, Hot Springs, VA

We had a blast venturing up to Hot Springs for one amazing wedding at The Omni Homestead for Nicole and Ryan’s beautiful, almost fairytale like wedding. We setup lighting, ran sound for the ceremony and brought out the DV Entertainment exclusive offering, Club Web DJ Package. Let’s not forget we got to work with one of our favorite wedding planners, Haleigh with Sweet Southern Party and the Homestead wedding team. It was a magical day and we couldn’t be happier for the newly weds. Congrats!

Cody & Leah's Wedding, House Mountain Inn, Lexington, VA

There has to be a special reaction a guests has when they drive up the long, steep road to House Mountain Inn for the first time. It dips off a country road and takes you up to the unknown, gifting you with breaktaking views and tranquility. If there is any state of mind a person can hope to put their guests into just before saying I-Do in front of them, this has to be that hope. And does it translate to one heck of a time that Cody and Leah’s guest had all night. Check out a few photos from this wedding. On top of always enjoying working weddings at House Mountain Inn just outside of Lexington, VA, working with our good friend Stephanie, superwomen, super wedding planner, coordinator, and owner of Diamond Events. It was a good time for all, congrats to the newly weds!

Zachary & Melanie's Golf Course Wedding, Spring Creek Golf Club, Gordonsville VA

What a wonderful day we had to celebrate the end of summer, by helping Zach and Melanie ring in their wedding day. It was sunny, mild, and beautiful course side at Spring Creek Golf Club in Gordonsville. Providing ceremony sound, and then bring the party to their reception, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect evening at this beautiful location. Congrats to Zach and Melanie!

Elisa & Bill's Wedding at Moss Vineyard, Dyke VA

- WRITTEN BY LEAD WEDDING DJ, DAVID VERDE

My team and I have been working weddings every weekend since April and often times when arriving to a venue we've never worked before we ask the question, "who puts a venue at the end of the really long gravel road that leads to nowhere?" Though I promise it's more of a running joke because these gravel roads lead to slices of paradise that you didn't even know could exist. Moss Vineyard is this in every single regard. Owned and operated by Barry and Ellen Moss, their vineyard shares the same property and views as their personal home (and crazy sweet sweet swimming pool I must add). Once getting settled It was not hard to understand why Elisa and Bill chose Moss at the location for the wedding day. Elisa and I have been communicating for well over a year now since they booked me at the start of 2016, so the build up to this day was pretty long, but oh was it worth it.

I love all weddings, it's why I do what I do and never tire. However there is something sort of wonderful about very small weddings and getting this unadulterated invitation into their life for a day. In my world that is 50 people or less, and in Bill and Elisa's case, that was 38 of their dearest human beings. And oh were they all wonderful. Their ceremony took place at the end of the vines with honestly one of the sweetest ceremonies I've witnessed in my 15 years of working and DJing weddings. From the father of the bride Billy (who is my new favorite person I might add) who sang two songs, including Peter Gabrial's "Book of Love" with all the guests singing along, to their vows to each other to also help make their community better together, to even a little dancing, it was wonderful to watch. The dinner hand toasts from friends, siblings, and both sides parents, then dancing carried everyone into the night. The evening ended with everyone departing on a white school bus, and then all the vendors including the vineyard owners taking a break during breakdown and load out to watch the International Space Station fly over through the night sky. It was basiclly just a perfect day that I was so grateful to be apart of.

With that, we provided DJ services, our super high output compact PA system and ceremony sound support as well as audio support for the father of the bride who sung and played guitar.

To Elisa and Bill, their guests, family, and friends. Thank you for letting me be there for every joyous minute. Congrats to the bride and groom.

PS, if you look at the photos below and see the chef setting up the tables? Yes that is a table measure making each napkin setting the same in every way. Can we can talk about attention to detail? That's the next level love for your clients we love to see from other vendors.

Eric & Lindsay's Gaie Lea wedding, Staunton, VA

After doing our pre-wedding walk through at Gaie Lea, I knew that Eric and Lindsay's wedding was going to be just as stunning as it was going to be fun. Let's just say they did not disappoint. From the amazingly touching poem written by Eric's college friend, to Lindsay's sister the matron of honors 3 minute rap-remix to a instrumental of the Fresh Prince of Belair theme music. Start to finish fully memorized without missing a beat, arguably the most amazing set of speeches I've seen in a very long time. This one October evening was one I'll remember for a while. I can't thank Lindsay and Eric for letting me be apart of their wedding day and helping them have a night to remember.

Below are some photos from that night, special thanks goes out to the amazing photographer of the night, Emily of Emily Sacra Photography for letting me share some of her amazing work here on my blog.

Gary and Caitlin's Vinyard wedding. Barren Ridge Vineyard, Fishersville, VA

What a fun night was Gary and Caitlin's wedding day! With their ceremony nestled far away from the main building, surrounded by the grape vines, Gary and Caitlin's guests made their way back to the reception area just as the sunset for their rustic late summer wedding at Barren Ridge Vineyard in Fishersville, VA. We were particularly keen on the film cameras placed at each table for guests to use, as well as the candy apples near the dessert table. Congratulations to Gary and Caitlin!
