There has to be a special reaction a guests has when they drive up the long, steep road to House Mountain Inn for the first time. It dips off a country road and takes you up to the unknown, gifting you with breaktaking views and tranquility. If there is any state of mind a person can hope to put their guests into just before saying I-Do in front of them, this has to be that hope. And does it translate to one heck of a time that Cody and Leah’s guest had all night. Check out a few photos from this wedding. On top of always enjoying working weddings at House Mountain Inn just outside of Lexington, VA, working with our good friend Stephanie, superwomen, super wedding planner, coordinator, and owner of Diamond Events. It was a good time for all, congrats to the newly weds!
A little bit of rain wasn’t going to stop this wedding from happening with all the excitement, love, and happiness Tara and Josh and their guests had bottled up, ready to let out at the right moment. And oh did that moment come as soon as they said I do! We were there for their ceremony and reception and helped them ring in their first day together as husband and wife in style. Couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day at a stunning venue. Congrats again!
What a wonderful start to the event season! Working with Christopher and Jeremy over several months to plan out their amazing reception was a absolute pleasure and their vision was a wonderful channel for our team to nail, not only the music playlist, but the lighting design we did for the entire (we mean the whole back space there at Bold Rock Cindery) to really set the mood for their wedding day. We also designed and programed a custom light show for their dance floor, such a rare thing for weddings, and a challenge we were ready for! All of the large and small details really showed their personality and made this quite the unique and fun wedding. The pop-pie for food, the food trucks with tacos, fish and chips, and other fair-like food, and the ice cream sandwich toast! It was such a wonderful night of dancing, food, drinks, and love. Congrats you guys!

Charley and Aubrey found me quite early on in the planning phases of their wedding, which is quite rare since DJs are often the last to be booked. However they knew they were looking for just the right fit, and took the time to email, ask questions, chat on the phone, a video call or two, then also met in person which let our team really get to know Charley and Aubrey quite well. This also made waiting all year for their wedding excruciating as it became more like waiting for a friends wedding after spending so much time planning. It was well worth it as we also got to work with one of our favorite pro planners, Stephanie from Diamond Events. All that said, it was an amazing day at King Family Vineyards in Crozet as guests arrived to a fresh layer of snow on the grounds with the clouds breaking just in time for a fiery sunset. We pumped sound in the main room, we had sound in the bar area, we lite the dance floor. Once the dancing started, there was no stopping them, and this is just how we like it. Bonus points for helping make our last wedding of 2017 a massive party full of love, friendship, and good memories. It was wonderful.
Congrats to Aubrey and Charley!

What a wonderful day we had to celebrate the end of summer, by helping Zach and Melanie ring in their wedding day. It was sunny, mild, and beautiful course side at Spring Creek Golf Club in Gordonsville. Providing ceremony sound, and then bring the party to their reception, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect evening at this beautiful location. Congrats to Zach and Melanie!
There is something wonderful about being near the top of the skyline in the start city. People unknowingly going about their day down on the street while two come together to celebrate their first day together as husband and wife. That is how the day went for Melissa and Mike and their wedding at Center in the Square (now known as The Penthouse) in downtown Roanoke. We had a magically time with dancing, and clear skies, all to the backdrop of mountains and the city center, it was, magical.
Congrats again Mike & Melissa
Leading into our second to last wedding of the 2017 season, the brisk fall air and the mountain peaks of the valley fell in the background as the sunset for Mikey and Rachel's wedding at Six Penny Farm in McGaheysville just outside Harrisonburg. Starting the night off with a beautiful ceremony inside, in front of a warm, burning fireplace, all of their family and friends cheered and helped get the party started! We provided our largest PA system, which made perfect fit for the room and Mikey and Rachaels amazing indie, alt, and electronic playlist, a wonderful shift from the norm that complemented their personalities perfectly. I might add, that Mikey owns a local food truck Mashita in Harrisonburg, which with the help of his crew, he pulled double duty over seeing the catering for his own wedding! It’s also the reason why I got a small taste of his culinary skills and I’m not completely addicted to his food truck and eat there nearly every time I, or the crew passes through Harrisonburg. At any rate, we couldn’t have been more lucky to have got to DJ their wedding and had a amazing night helping them start of their married with a bang.
Congrats Mikey and Rachael!
We arrived to the city market in downtown Roanoke, quite excited for two reasons. 1, we got to finally work in the amazing Charter Hall, a space that always seems to avad us, and 2, we got to DJ Garrett and Lacey’s amazing fall wedding. One of the amazing things about Charter Hall is how easily is is completely transformed with some lighting, so we were enlisted by the now newly weds to do some LED uplighting installs and design to help bring all the decor touches together that they put together to decorate each table and the room itself. Started the room first laid out for their ceremony, the wedding party and their guests headed downstairs to the main market level for cocktail hour, while our team and the rest of the amazing vendors helped completely flip the room into their reception. Bonus points for one of our favorite humans and florists, Mark Frye from Creative Occasions handling all the stunning floral arrangements. Once all the guests returned, they finished dinner and kicked off the party with dancing, dancing, and more dancing, which we brought out our largest PA system to help fill that room with some party-worthy sound. It was a smashing good time.
We can’t thank Garrett and Lacey for trusting us for their wedding night and wish them the happiest first year of marriage. Congrats!
